In the continent of Polyphonica, Spirits materialized in the world, surviving on the music that is played by humans, and lives together with them. While the spirits doesn’t appear often, some spirits has enough power to materialize in human or animal forms and live together with humans. Dantists, who play special music called “Commandia,” are widely respected in this world. They also usually are in contract with powerful spirits. The story of Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica revolves around the new Dantist, Phoron Tatara, the spirit that he made contract with, Corticarte Apa Lagranges, and their friends, in their daily life and work.This story takes place before the previous season, when Phoron and the rest are still studying in the Commandia Academy. Story revolves around the four immense "Sousei Gakkis" that are used for the creation of the world. There's both manga (pictured on top) and light novel series of this title. The light novels are released in 4 groups and 1 compliation. The light novels are written by different people. One of the authors is Sakaki Ichiro, who also wrote Scrapped Princess and the Polyphonica manga, which is called "Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica - Cardinal Crimson." The other author of the manga is Ocelot, which is published in Japan by Flex Comix and in America by CMX.
