From the Viz release: The story follows a rare silver Akita pup named "Gin" (Japanese for "Silver") as he grows up, joins a wild pack of dogs, and hunts down the monsterous bear Akakabuto. Yoshihiro Takahashi, the mangaka famous for telling dog (usually Akita) stories (such as "Shiroi Senshi Yamato" and "Ginga densetsu WEED"), also authored this story. This series is published in Japan by Jump Comics and is 18 tankoubon or 10 bunkoban long. Ginga densetsu WEED is the follow-up story following the dogs.
